One More Week...

Well, it's the beginning of another week. Man I dislike Mondays. However, this isn't a huge deal, because I had a fairly nice weekend, and in just one week, it will be Fall Break. This is something many people from other schools are very unfamiliar with. ("Why would you need a break in the fall? School just started?") However, I quite enjoy the fact that Ripon acknowledges its students' need for sanity. This break is coming at a lovely time.
However, I have to admit, each year, the break is bittersweet. Just when I'm starting to really settle into my schedule and have fun, then I have to leave. It will be so nice to catch up on some sleep, work ahead on some homework and papers, and see my family and friends from home. However, I will miss my boyfriend and friends from school, and the excitement of living weekend to weekend and always having something to look forward to.
At least my last weekend with my friends here for two more weeks ended with a bang. On Saturday, I planned a sorority event with Merriman fraternity. We joined them in celebrating their annual toga party. My sisters and I spent the majority of the day pinning and sewing unique togas. Toga parties at Ripon are not just about sheets; they turn into a sort of fashion show, or a competition to see who has the best looking and most original toga. It's amazing to see what you can do with a little cloth, rope, and safety pins! The toga party was complete with a band who performed in our student union. I made great friends with the band, who let me join them on stage for a tamborine solo haha... It was an all around amazing time. It's events and times like those that really make it possible for me to MISS school lol...
