All work and no play makes Jordan a dull girl

Just as I suspected, my unusually large load of STUFF to do has had me quite bogged down the past week. Last Wednesday night, I went to the "Making Greek Great Again" speaker. She spoke to us about how to make the most out of being "Greek." At first, I was less than enthusiastic about my sorority making it mandatory to attend, but I'm actually very happy I went. I received great ideas on how to fend off stereotypes and make my time here at Ripon even greater than it already is. After that, I finished the week with part two of my two-day exam- I actually think I did very well, so that's a plus....
This weekend was Sigma Chi fraternity's Derby Days, where students united on teams to compete in a wide array of activities ranging from egg drops to obstacle courses. I unfortunately was unable to attend, as I just couldn't let myself spend all weekend having fun knowing full well I had a paper to do and my OTHER two-day exam this week.
Sunday night my sorority hosted a game night for all of the independents and freshmen girls. We sat around and had snacks while playing a number of board games and chit-chatting about the weekend. I spent the majority of my time there playing Disney Scene It. Being reminded of all the fantabulous Disney movies out there motivated me to tell my friends I wanted to have a kid so that I could have an excuse to watch them all again.... but then after a little thought and reflection on the statement, my friends and I determined the Disney movies could wait for a while...
This week is Homecoming week, and unfortunately, I'm a little too stressed to enjoy it completely. I have to buckle down these next few days and tackle this exam and paper, and my reward will be a GREAT homecoming weekend. I'm excited for the football game on Saturday, and equally as excited for Phi Kappa Pi (Merriman) fraternity's Homecoming Formal later that night. I have yet to find a dress, but that's sort of at the bottom of my list right now.... For the moment, I need to work now, and play later.....
